Though warned by many not to investigate the Process Church, the true story has finally emerged, complete with many photographs and true stories of living ex-members of the core group. We took the "Process Church Sabbath Assembly Ritual and Salon" show on the road in the fall, bringing The Process Church rituals, live music and author Timothy Wyllie to sold-out audiences in Los Angeles (pix), and New York (with Genesis P-Orridge), and Portland and Seattle.

We can now reveal that extraordinary original music from the group has been re-created and will be released next year by Feral House friends, The Process "Sabbath Assembly" band.

The Process' extraordinary style has also been recaptured by Feral House with re-creations of men's and ladies' sterling silver cult rings of the timeless Process sigil.

Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, co-founder of Industrial Music and its primary band, Throbbing Gristle, contributed to Love Sex Fear Death and has just this past month had his Psychick Bible re-released in an extravagantly beautiful, sewn-stitch-bound and signed and numbered hardcover copy, accompanied by a DVD of impossible-to-find videos from P-Orridge archives of early Psychic TV and TOPY creations. Back in the '60s, trucks from the Helms Bakery of Culver City delivered bread every morning to our neighborhood. Author Harry Helms was not related to that particular Helms, but like the bakery Harry is now unavailable to us, and we miss him already.

We published two of Harry's books: "Inside the Shadow Government: National Emergencies and the Cult of Secrecy" (now out of print), and "Top Secret Tourism: Your Travel Guide to Germ Warfare Laboratories, Clandestine Aircraft Bases and Other Places in the United States You're Not Supposed to Know About" (in print). Both of Harry's titles were both disturbing, but entirely backed up, and both entirely sidestepped the "conspiracy theorist" insult. He was a practical and resourceful man, and his easygoing qualities made working with him a great pleasure.

In the '70s, '80s, and '90s, Harry wrote about computers, shortwave and ham radios. And in the oughts, Feral House veered him into political investigations. Harry passed away on November 15, at the age of 57, from cancer. He leaves behind his charming and devoted partner,
Dianna.

When it first crawled out from beneath a rock, punk became a life-changing experience for us, and we first experienced it care of Brendan Mullen's filthy and scary Hollywood club, The Masque. Brendan's club enabled a small cadre of kiddie misfits to reinvent their personalities and reclaim music, politics and art that had become the domain of rich, cocaine-drenched ex-hippies. It's easy to forget how dangerous the form of punk rock was since it's now heard as a kind of background muzak at shopping malls.

Brendan worked with us to gather images for and co-write Lexicon Devil: The Fast Times and Short Life of Darby Crash and The Germs. Lexicon Devil is far more than another book about a punk rock band, it is an oral biography that encompassed the strange times and place of '70s Los Angeles, the cults, the street hustlers, the drugs, the sexual confusion, the backstabbing, the limited glory amongst a lust for fame and personal power. Thanks in significant measure to Brendan's contributions, we have a book that I believe that is one of the best titles Feral House has ever published.

Brendan Mullen's passing reminds us how gnat's life brief our lives are, and how grateful we are to have spent it with people we admire. RIP Brendan, we love you.

Attendees at the event witnessed (or participated in, if they so chose!) a re-creation of an original Process Church ritual service featuring Maja D'Aoust as the evangelist and Sammy N., an original Process Church minister, as the Sacrifist.

Beautiful and haunting renditions of original Process Church hymns were performed throughout the service by the Sabbath Assembly Band.

We also saw a sneak preview of the documentary on the Process Church currently in production and directed by William Morrison, followed by a talk by LOVE SEX FEAR DEATH author and founding Process Church member Timothy Wyllie, and then a Q&A with Wyllie and the book's editor (and Feral House publisher/Process Media co-founder) Adam Parfrey.

Afterwards, author Wyllie met with fans and signed a truckload of books.

Tonight, Feral House and Process Books present a re-creation of an actual Process Church “Sabbath Assembly” ritual. Author Wyllie (Father Micah) will follow to discuss the cult and his time within it in a multimedia presentation. The Sabbath Assembly band, comprised of Imaad Wasif (Tee Pee Records), Jex Thoth (I Hate Records), Kevin Rutmanis (hepa-Titus, et alii), and David Christian (of No-Neck Blues Band), will perform Process hymns and songs throughout.
